Sonus Networks, Inc. has announced a significant addition to its Session Border Controller (SBC) portfolio with the introduction of the Sonus SBC 5400. Working to increase customer deployment flexibility with the broadest portfolio of SBCs on the market, the SBC 5400 was purpose-built to meet the unique real-time communications challenges large enterprises and service providers face today.
The SBC 5400 is designed to provide advanced scalability up to 75,000 anchored media sessions, delivering unrivaled performance per price compared to competing products.
The SBC 5400 also provides seamless migration to 10G networks for mid-range SBCs, future-proofing real-time communications networks for high-bandwidth utilization sessions. These features allow customers to scale up session capacity without having to perform hardware upgrades or rip and replace current devices.
In today’s zero-trust world, the SBC 5400 acts as a real-time SIP firewall, protecting communication networks’ signal and media sessions. The SBC 5400 provides complete security, without any performance impact, via encryption, Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack detection and blocking, and dynamic black-listing of rogue endpoints.
Sonus’ newest SBC seamlessly integrates with Sonus’ existing product portfolio and also provides sophisticated routing and policy management, overload controls, SIP normalization, IPv4-IPv6 interworking, multi-modal communication, built-in media transcoding, and assured performance and scale under heavy traffic.
The SBC 5400 joins Sonus’ core set of SBCs, sharing a common management and provisioning interface as the SBC 5000 Series, SBC 7000 and SBC Software edition (SWe).
