Sonus Networks, Inc. has introduced VellOS Release 8.1. Sonus’ VellOS is a programmable network control platform that permits service providers and enterprises to enhance, secure and monetize their cloud exchange network.
This release extends network layer security in support of a multi-layer security architecture, ensuring that organizations can dynamically implement security policies at the network layer. VellOS enables this by delivering programmable segmentation of application traffic and business policy management tied directly to traffic forwarding rules.
VellOS also provides dynamic path management – seamlessly handling changing network conditions. This functionality offers peace of mind to network administrators bymeeting missioncritical traffic SLAs and optimizing networkresource utilization.
“With CIOs constantly needing to respond to network threats, having a secure, dynamic network provides a competitive advantage to both service providers and enterprises,” said Mykola Konrad, Sonus vice president, product management and marketing. “VellOS Release 8.1 increases theITorganization’s ability to ensure mission critical application delivery, while simultaneously providing a way to secure those applications.”
