Veritas Technologies has announced a new agreement with Fujitsu to sell Veritas NetBackup Appliances. The Veritas NetBackup Appliances will be offered alongside the existing Fujitsu ETERNUS range of hardware and provide end users a full range of data protection solutions.
Veritas NetBackup Appliances provides both flexibility and cost savings by combining turnkey backup and recovery with deduplication solutions in an easy-to-deploy form factor.
Michael Keegan, Head of Product Business at Fujitsu EMEIA, said: “One of the pre-requisites for a successful transition to a digital business is to ensure that your valuable data is both accessible and protected. This is why a backup strategy is vital for companies of all sizes. We are extending the Fujitsu data protection portfolio, through the addition of the Veritas NetBackup Appliance. This effective, expandable system to protect valuable data is fast and simple to deploy and maintain.”
Both NetBackup 5240 and NetBackup 5330 will help provide an easy-to-deploy and low cost backup and recovery solution for Fujitsu’s global install base.
NetBackup 5240 is a versatile, cost-optimised, integrated backup appliance that can be deployed as a master server, media server or both. The NetBackup 5330 is a performance-optimised, integrated backup media server with high-density storage to support greater performance, capacity and resiliency in the enterprise.
Today, Fujitsu is one of Veritas’ largest Global Strategic Partners. The introduction of Veritas NetBackup Appliances in the Fujitsu data protection portfolio further strengthens this alliance with value-added customer benefits.
“For over 23 years, Fujitsu and Veritas have delivered products and services that help customers address data management and protection challenges,” said Rick Fairweather, vice president, Global Partner Organization, Veritas. “We are very pleased to announce that Fujitsu is now offering the Veritas NetBackup Appliances, further enabling our customers to harness the power of their information.”
