At Republic Polytechnic’s Internet of Things (IoT) Industry Day, co-organised by the School of Infocomm (SOI) and School of Engineering (SEG), the school will unveiled a number of initiatives designed to nurture current and future professionals in the field of IoT – an important component in Singapore’s vision of becoming a Smart Nation, and for the transformation of businesses.
Among the initiatives announced is the Specialist Diploma in Internet of Things, co-created by RP’s SOI and SEG. The course allows professionals to deep dive into IoT, which requires advanced integration skills and end-to-end thinking. The course is also designed to equip diploma or degree-level graduates and professionals with advanced integration skills and end-to-end thinking to meet a spectrum of needs across various IoT deployments.
Participants will gain hands-on experience with industry standard technologies such as specialised sensors, and exposure to industry projects on IoT, especially in smart city applications. Upon completion of the programme, participants will be well placed to effectively apply and use a range of IoT technologies. These include the development of IoT solutions that apply data analytics, cloud computing, big data and machine learning, as well as the ability to design, build and test a complete IoT solution, and more.
Registration for the course is now open until July, and intake begins in October 2017.
