Over 280 companies and organizations in Hong Kong were granted the ‘Happiness-at-work Label’ for their commitment to foster a happy workplace culture and raise the happiness-at-work level of the local workforce.

They have participated in the ‘Happiness-at-Work Promotional Scheme’, jointly organized by the Promoting Happiness Index Foundation (the Foundation) and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC). Now in its fourth year, the Scheme issues ‘Happy Company’ and ‘Happy Organisation’ labels to successful applicants. This year, there are 265 companies and 19 organizations under the two categories respectively to date.

“It is encouraging that more and more companies and organizations are joining the ‘Happiness-at-Work’ family and have adopted the people-oriented management concept,” says Stanley Lau, Chairman of HKPC. “With this in place, the employees can better manage their career, family and personal development. Being one of the ‘Happy Organisations’, HKPC also strives to create a happy workplace and implement various family-friendly measures to help staff members strike a work-life balance.”

Successful applicants of the ‘Happy Company’ and ‘Happy Organisation’ labels must have implemented measures or activities in at least two out of the four areas that enhance ‘Happiness-at-work’ in the past year. These include ‘Corporate Love’, ‘Corporate Insight’, ‘Corporate Fortitude’ and ‘Corporate Engagement’.

The ‘Happiness-at-work Promotional Scheme 2016’ is open for application until the end of August.
