Alibaba Cloud has released new technologies and products at  its  cloud  computing  conference, Shenzhen Summit on April 20, 2016.

Alibaba Cloud launched version 1.0 of IoT solution, a one-stop platform for IoT and cloud computing, redefining IoT with introduction of the concept of ‘Intelligence of Things’.

As an IoT infrastructure solutions provider, Alibaba Cloud is enabling end-to-end network solutions in areas such as medical, energy, smart home, intelligent campus network, facilitating the easy deployment of cloud architectures across all industry sectors.

Alibaba Cloud’s IoT Version 1.0 combines an IoT foundation kit, an intelligence dissemination platform, as well as smart services and comprehensive ecosystem functionality to enable the rapid development of stable, and reliable enterprise-class IoT networks.

In proposing “intelligence of things”, Alibaba Cloud aims to accelerate the evolution of computing to its logical conclusion while ensuring true device interoperability. The IoT kit is compatible with a large variety of protocols, allowing devices to connect quickly to the cloud and to other devices and eliminating limitations on information technology development.

A new rules engine allows devices to seamlessly leverage on cloud solutions such as elastic computing, distributed storage, and big data analytics. The kit is also reinforced security-wise with encrypted data transmission, device authentication, and security gateways, resulting in service availability of 99%.

Apsara Stack for Hybrid Clouds

At the Shenzhen Summit, Alibaba Cloud also officially released Apsara Stack, a dedicated cloud platform derived from public cloud infrastructure. Apsara Stack can be customized for unique corporate requirements, providing cloud capabilities exclusive to Alibaba Cloud in a fully-isolated environment within an enterprise data center, with autonomic management for  operations and maintenance.

Apsara Stack enables enterprises  to experience hybrid cloud services consistently from experiences in dedicated cloud and public cloud. It also provides local data centers with Alibaba Cloud’s cloud infrastructure capabilities and the elastic scalability to seamlessly access to public cloud, regardless of any differences in software architecture.

Enterprise-class Database and Storage

For enterprise-level databases and storage needs, Alibaba Cloud is launching a number of services including data migration solutions, diverse storage engines, access protocols and usage models. These services cover data transmission, the financial services-grade cloud database OceanBase; ApsaraDB for PetaData, a database for petabyte-level files, and a file storage solution, NAS.

Alibaba Cloud is also introducing "light computing" as a concept. This form of computing provides a cloud storage application interface that allows users to create “instant-on” data processing applications or modules, simplifying data management.

Enterprise-class Security Services

Alibaba Cloud has officially released AliCloud CDN support for HTTPS encrypted communication, Certificate Authority (CA) services, key escrow key management services (KMS), as well as operation audit services (ActionTrail), among others.

Alibaba Cloud’s Yundun cloud-based data security brand has also launched a new product family to meet a wide range of different security needs. The new products include a Web application firewall, and enhanced Yundun DDoS protection with added support for Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing as a solution, as well as new features such as security Awareness service, intrusion analytics, zero-day fixes and security expert services.
