Comanche International (Comanche) of Thailand has chosen TIBCO Software Inc.’s Spotfire to support the data visualisation and analytics functionality of its hotel booking solutions platform.
The Bangkok-based information technology solutions company is building the next-generation digital platform for hotels to support Thailand’s booming hospitality sector.
“Our customers need greater visibility and insights from their data to continue growth in a highly competitive environment. We were convinced that TIBCO Spotfire was the obvious choice to help us build critical data intelligence and insights into our next-generation integrated hotel and serviced apartments management platform for our customers in Thailand,” said Somboon Sukheviriya, chief executive officer, Comanche.
“The robust data visualisation and analytics capabilities of Spotfire enable fast and accurate decisions through a graphical presentation of business critical data. The front office, reservations and services teams at hotels and serviced apartments are now able to react swiftly and effectively to changes by analysing data in real time, thereby increasing their efficiency and customer service interactions and relationships.”
Somboon Sukheviriya added that, “TIBCO Spotfire was chosen for its comprehensive suite of features, especially smart recommendations and the collaboration and storytelling functionalities, all of which enhance Comanche’s self-service productivity. Features and functions are also scalable and affordable, as the modules are built on an integrated platform that does not rely on costly add-ons or extensions.”
“Comanche has built a reputation as a gold standard solutions provider for the hospitality industry in Thailand. They reviewed all available industry solutions, finally identifying Spotfire as the solution to meet their precise needs for their next-generation hotel operations and management platform,” explained Erich Gerber, general manager, Asia Pacific and Japan, TIBCO.
Streamlining digitalisation
The implementation of Spotfire streamlined the digitalisation of Comanche’s various business modules, including the core modules of the Front Office and Point of Sales (POS) systems, event management and the online booking interface and mobility modules such as the POS Tablet and Android order stations. Spotfire thus played a crucial role in integrating new channels with Comanche’s core system as part of its real-time hotel management strategy.
With over 20 years of experience in the hotels and hospitality industry, Comanche is headquartered in Bangkok and has customers in over 18 countries in the Asia Pacific region. More than 400 customers are located in Thailand, over 30% of which are hotels and serviced apartments that have migrated from other software systems.
The company works with hotel and hospitality professionals, including IT system developers and programmers, to offer solutions in a complex industry that requires a detailed study of various functions including order management, reservations, procurement, sales, management, maintenance, guest registration, and front office operations.
As Thailand’s hospitality and services industry is embarking on modernisation supported by an increasingly high volume of tourists from all over the world, Comanche has recognised that building a flexible, agile and robust infrastructure with a focus on self-service applications and mobile platforms is key to sustained growth and success. This is also essential to meet the growth of the Thai tourism sector.
“Thailand is a growing economy and is known as the Land of Smiles for a reason. With its friendly people, tourists will continue visiting our country. As such, it was imperative that we help our customers accommodate the needs of modern tourists who leverage mobile technologies and devices. It would also help support Thailand’s bid to become a digital nation,” said Somboon Sukheviriya.
Sune Sucksdorff, managing director of Net Protection Concepts, a TIBCO partner added, “We are delighted to work with Comanche and share their vision in using Spotfire to add significant value to their offerings in the hospitality sector. The usage of data analytics tools is still largely under-utilised in Thailand’s hospitality sector, so we see plenty of growth opportunities for Comanche and are excited to work with Comanche to ensure their success.”
“We are excited about Comanche’s ambitious growth plans in the region and the prospects of the industry in Thailand. We are committed and focused on working with our customers, partners and the industry to assist them in taking technological leap to the future,” concluded Gerber.
