Darktrace has announced that it is now capable of deploying in cloud-only environments.
As more and more companies turn to cloud infrastructures, security has become a critical concern, and visibility of users and data in the cloud has been difficult to achieve. Powered by machine learning and mathematics developed by specialists from the University of Cambridge, the Enterprise Immune System monitors all raw network traffic, detecting emerging threats without using rules or signatures.
Today, this technology may be deployed within a cloud-only environment – without requiring a hardware appliance. Darktrace customers with internal users that access data in the cloud, but no on-premise network, may simply install lightweight sensors into their cloud, enabling Darktrace to perform its self-learning analysis and threat detection.
“Organizations know that a compromise could happen anywhere, and may start small. They need complete oversight of their infrastructure – irrespective of how the network is configured, and how much has been ‘virtualized’, to have the best chance of defending it,” commented Nicole Eagan, CEO, Darktrace. “Darktrace is committed to bringing self-learning cyber defense to all organizations and all infrastructure types – and we are delighted to be announcing this capacity to deploy our machine learning and mathematics-led solution into full cloud environments.”
A cloud-only deployment includes the full Darktrace service, from data collection, mathematics and detection, through to the visualization of threats and expert cyber-analyst investigation services. Darktrace is compatible with Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Rackspace and other major hosting providers.
