S’pore’s Cyber Security Agency teams up with Palo Alto Networks to boost nation’s cyber de-fense

Palo Alto Networks has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) at the inaugural Singapore International Cyber Week 2016 (SICW) built around the annual GovernmentWare (GovWare) cyber conference and exhibition.

The collaboration will enable the exchange of ideas, insights and expertise on cybersecurity between Palo Alto Networks and the Singapore Government. This will entail sharing of threat intelligence, industry education and national capability building, to help strengthen Singapore’s cybersecurity posture.

Through the collaboration agreement, Palo Alto Networks and the CSA will share threat information that will be used as a basis to help develop an educational resource for outreach, training and awareness on cybersecurity and to ultimately help boost Singapore’s national cyber defence.

To underscore its commitment to building a stronger security foundation in Singapore and the region, Palo Alto Networks also announced the appointment of Khoo Boon Hui as the first Asia Pacific council member of the Palo Alto Networks Public Sector Advisory Council (PSAC). The council, comprised of elite, retired military and civilian officers, advises Palo Alto Networks on the cybersecurity challenges and technology needs of the world's governments, aimed at improving cybersecurity practices adopted by government institutions.

Khoo joins the PSAC with a wealth of senior leadership and Singapore government experience, concurrently serving as the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore Quality Award Governing Council, as well as the boards of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, Certis CISCO, SingHealth, Ministry of Health Holdings and Temasek Foundation International.

An Advisor to INTERPOL, Standard Chartered Bank (UK)’s Board Financial Crime Risk Committee and Singapore’s National Cybersecurity Research and Development Programme, Khoo has also chaired the first two ASEAN Senior Officials’ Roundtable on Cybercrime, held in conjunction with the RSA Asia Pacific and Japan Conference. He was President of INTERPOL.
